Beaches
Delaware has gorgeous beaches for every kind of vibe!
Visit Rehoboth for the classic spring break beach scene. Good food, entertainment, traditional boardwalk style with great shops , salty air and waves.
Cape Henlopen State Park is perfect for families who want a more laid back beach day but the option to explore a little. Visit the nature center, go for a bike ride, hang out at the beach, walk the fishing pier or climb the WWII tower. There is something for everyone at this beautiful spot in our home state.
Bethany beach is often recommended for families with little ones who are seeking a more quiet experience and has a nice nature center to visit. Don’t forget to play miniature golf at Captain Jacks, which is only a short walk from the boardwalk!
Lewes beach, with it’s shopping and restaurants, wide beach and gorgeous views is also a top spot for families to enjoy an entire day.
History
Spend spring break exploring historical Delaware!
From the Kalmar Nyckle, to the grand Nemours Mansion and Gardens, Delaware is filled with historic spots and landmarks to visit. You can also explore Delaware’s rich past by participating in the Delaware History Trail.

Learn a little about aviation history at the Air Mobility Command Museum in Dover, Delaware.
The Biggs Museum of American Art, also located in Dover, is a collection of exhibits based on a historical timeline. With many unique artifacts and displays, this is one of our state’s most important museums and is sure to delight the whole family.
Visit the Greenbank Mill and Phillips Farm to learn of the milling history of the Red Clay Valley and gain an understanding of the industrial, agricultural and social history of Delaware ancestors. See their water system and a re-creation of the milling process that revolutionized the milling industry.
Nature
Take a hike, get out in nature and enjoy a picnic at any of these beautiful spots in Delaware:
Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge This Spring, you’ll see woodchucks and turtles emerge from hibernation, the spring songbird migration and more.
Alapocas Run State Park has plenty to see and do. Go for a hike through the woods, do a little rock climbing, see the cliffs. There’s also a playground and historical folk art collection at the Blue Ball Barn to enjoy.
Brandywine Creek State Park There’s plenty of room to explore at this park with its 138 acres of trails, woods, marshes, water and meadows. Go fishing, hiking, kite flying and more.
Barn Hill Preserve typically has some fun animal events going on, from Kangraroo Yoga to Painting with a Sloth (or other animals)
Take a train ride through the scenic Brandywine Valley on the Wilmington & Western Railroad and listen to the clickity-clack of the train on the tracks.
Other locations to consider are Delaware Seashore State Park, Fort Delaware State Park, Killens Pond State Park and Lums Pond State Park.

Lancaster, Pennsylvania – With excellent shopping, family friendly activities and Dutch Country charm, Lancaster is a fun day trip for all.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Philly has it all- great food, shopping and fun for the whole family! Visit museums, the zoo, parks and more. This city would be great for a day trip as well and a weekend destination.
Baltimore, Maryland With another great zoo, a pirate adventure, the National Aquarium and the B&O Railroad Museum, there’s plenty of family-friendly things to see and do in the Seaside City.
